"CHRISTOPHER READ"

For as long as I can remember I’ve been drawing. I was always interested in tattoos from a very young age and was constantly drawing on anybody or anything I could get my hands on.

I have always enjoyed making my mark on things and I’ve always liked the idea of marking things that aren’t mine permanently, for all to see. So what better way than marking a living canvas that walks around showcasing my art for the rest of their lives.

It took me a while to figure out exactly what I wanted to do with my life and I jumped around a lot. Until one night when I had the great idea of drunkenly tattooing a good friend of mine with a sowing needle and I have never looked back since.

There are so many styles that I’m still keen to explore, but what I enjoy doing the most is anything based on linework, blackwork pieces, American traditional, illustrative and pieces that fit well with the body.

To me, the most rewarding part of this career is seeing a person stoked with the tattoo that I have put on them. There’s really no better feeling than that.
